Emma's upstairs warmed slowly and the landing felt cold. We topped the floor to 300mm, added SF19 SuperFOIL across the 46m² roof pitch and retained a 7m² T-shaped access platform around the hatch.

Julie's upstairs rooms felt noticeably colder than the ground floor and lost their heat quickly once the heating went off. By insulating both the loft floor and the roof pitch — and adding a boarded storage area — we gave the whole loft a consistent, well-sealed insulation layer, so the bedrooms hold their warmth for longer and feel more comfortable on cold evenings.
